Graphic Design + Video Editing
in Addis AbabaDesign it, then cut it — two courses as one 3-month package

It is the Graphic Design course and the Video Editing course taught as one continuous 3-month track at Klick Film & Design School in Addis Ababa. You start with design fundamentals — type, layout, colour and brand identity — and finish in an edit suite, cutting and grading video.

The two belong together in practice. A brand needs a logo and the launch video. A social page needs the post and the reel. Learning both in sequence, on the same projects, means the work you leave with is a portfolio a client can understand rather than two half-finished skills.

Months 1–2 — Graphic Design. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign from the beginning: typography, colour, composition and grid, logo and brand identity work, social media templates, and files prepared correctly for print and for screen.

Month 3 — Video Editing. Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve: organising footage, assembly and pacing, colour correction and grading, audio cleanup, and export settings for client delivery and social platforms.

Throughout. You build one body of work rather than two unrelated sets of exercises. The final project pairs a brand identity with a short video that uses it.

Classes meet 3 times per week for 2-hour sessions, with weekday and weekend options at both branches — Mexico (Sengatera Building, 19th Floor) and CMC Michael. A new intake starts every two weeks and seats are limited per class, so the shift you want is worth reserving early.

Graduates work in advertising and social media agencies, in production houses, and as freelancers who can quote for a whole job — the identity, the artwork and the video — instead of one part of it. In Addis Ababa that combination is what lets a freelancer keep a client for a year rather than a week.

Either course can be taken on its own: Graphic Design runs 2 months and Video Editing runs 1 month, each with its own fee and certificate, and the two fees come to the same ETB 15,000 as the package. The package is for students who already know they want both and would rather run them back to back, on the same projects, as one 3-month programme.
